How a disastrous hair day surprisingly catapulted me to boho fashion stardom.
Join me on my journey of discovery and reinvention.
My life has been a series of unconventional choices, and reinvention was my constant companion. I’m a bohemian at heart, but I’ve never fully committed to the lifestyle until now.
This blog is broken down into 2 main sections: My personal story before reinvention and my life and lifestyle since reinvention.
The ‘After’ section is still in the process of becoming, and will include info on the exciting, cutting-edge brands I’ve chosen to work with, my favorite bohemian accessories and outfits and the hand-picked skin and hair care products that are working for me.
My commitment to eating healthier will be front and center. I’ll share recipes and bring you along as I attempt to make my favorite recipes – edible (not an easy task!).
With summer almost here the boys and I will share outdoor adventures as we explore our neighborhood with fresh eyes focused on appreciating the beauty of nature, something I took for granted way too long.
I’m sure more will come to mind as I open my awareness to the new Laura Grace who is leading this journey with love and light.
Sharing all of this with you will help me stay on track, and I hope to inspire anyone who may need a bit of inspiration to begin their own journey to the life they’ve always wanted.
Ethnic touches like tunics, wood jewelry, embroidery, beading, fringed handbags, jeweled or embellished sandals. Earthy jewelry made from natural elements: feathers, coral, wood, turquoise. Jewelry is often stacked, large, unique. hats, turbans, headbands.
Loose, long flowing dresses and skirts, peasant blouses, with paisley, floral, or exotic prints. It’s not uncommon to see boho clothes with mix-matched prints, tassels, and lace accents. Pick up a peasant blouse, a long and flowing floral dress, or some harem pants to complete the look.
Natural materials like canvas, suede and leather embody a back-to-nature vibe. Bags are embellished with fringe, beads, color. The classic saddlebag with earthy hands-free functionality was the fashion of the time and destined to become a lasting symbol of elegance.
A lesson from my dad, who was orphaned in the 1918 flu epidemic: “Happiness is not the car in the garage, money in the bank, or a diamond ring. Happiness is the small momentary pleasures most people experience throughout the day but fail to recognize.” Thanks dad!
