Reframing

Reframing My Past Was Like Riding a Seesaw

Who we are when we wake up in the morning is something many of us take for granted. We awake with an agenda already in our head for how the day will go. And if you’re like I was for most of my adult life, little thought is given to which version of ourselves we are on any particular day.

But the truth is, we can be high or low, depending on which side of the seesaw we’re riding. I like to think of myself as a woman who chooses to rise above just about all of it.

I’ve given away too much of myself to people and causes that really never cared about me. It is indeed a pleasure to be over that. I’ll admit, I can be a bit too over it because I’m not used to nurturing myself and sometimes Mother Bear comes out to protect me. But that’s OK, like all of us, I’m a work in progress.

Reframing our lives doesn’t happen overnight, but if you’re serious, even curious, about finding the best part of yourself you can do it. Just reach out and grab her. She’s right there waiting for you.
